When the owners of The Venue at Lilly Lou’s reached out to me to photograph an Outlander Wedding Shoot, I felt so appreciative and ecstatic that they chose me. I love this venue and all of the options it offers to the brides and grooms who choose it for their wedding day! I loved the way my first shoot there turned out, so I couldn’t wait to do this one!
I had never watched Outlander before. I decided I needed to educate myself and watch it to get an idea of what Rhonda and Lea were looking for with this shoot. After the first episode, I was hooked!! I binge-watched it up until the day of the shoot. They did such a great job transforming parts of the venue to the old-school, Scotland look. The dress from Mrs. Bridal was perfect. The front was elegant and conservative, while the back was lacy and sexy.
We started the shoot off in one of the main rooms inside of the venue. The ceiling was draped with sheer, white draperies. Crystal antique chandeliers hung from the ceiling. The white-washed brick walls help give the room a very warm and welcoming feeling. We then moved outdoors to one of their many beautiful spots. We took photos at the bridge and at the beautiful sweetheart table they had set up. Our final stop was the amazing greenhouse, which is another venue option. I think the greenhouse is my favorite option. There are so many options for this new and upcoming option for weddings.
I look forward to any and all weddings I get to shoot at Lilly Lou’s. The owners are amazing and the venue is beautiful. I feel so lucky to have met them!
